Holding off on a Touch Diamond purchase because of bad battery life? Clove Technology has made a 1800mAh battery to replace the underpowered stock 900mAh battery for the Touch Diamond. At the same time, the extended battery makes the Touch Diamond roughly the size of the Touch Pro. With the new dimensions, a complete new faceted back is provided with the battery to look like the original. Since Clove is a UK-based company, users in the United States will be looking at a price of $43.88 (original is £22 in UK).

How much of that extra thickness is empty space though?

But on the Diamond the original battery is only in the middle upper section below the camera. There’s like 1.5″ of extra space below there, and another .5″ above. Is the extended battery L shaped and sits over the SIM card slot below? Or is that area just going to be air? Now that I click on the link, it looks like those areas are just going to be empty space since the battery is rectangular. I suppose you could keep some tick-tacks or medicine pills in there.

Adam, the battery is the has the same rectangular dimensions as the original. It’s just fatter.
