There’s a lot of little features of the Diamond that make it unique - things that aren’t really advertised by HTC. Here we have a list of five such features, most of which you probably don’t know about.

1. Usually when you call someone, you have to hold the phone up to your ear and wait for them to answer. On the Diamond, you can dial the person, leave the phone in your hand, and when the other person picks up, you’ll feel a little vibration in your hand.
2. If a call comes through that you want to ignore (perhaps you’re out to dinner with the phone out on the table, or you’re in a meeting), you can simply turn the phone over onto its face, and the ringer will silence. It does this by using the accelerometer to track the movements of the phone.
3. The stylus is held in place by magnetic force. When you remove it, the device “knows”, and switches out of standby so that it’s ready for use.
4. The Touch Diamond has an ambient light sensor that adjusts screen brightness based on how much light is in your current environment. That means that at night your phone won’t be blindingly bright, and yet during the day in sunlight, the phone will expel enough brightness for you to be able to see it.
5. There are little LED lights inside the circular part of the action button. They’ll glow and flicker in different patterns to indicate different status states. A slow glow from top to bottom indicates a charging status, while a rapid flicker indicates an alert or announcement.
