Remote Desktop on the Diamond/Touch Pro

Windows Mobile devices have had “Terminal Services”, which is like remote desktop, for a long time, but lately, for some reason, mobile phone operators have removed this functionality from devices. The Touch Diamond and Pro bring it back.

Click the image for a larger shot. With a VGA screen and WiFi or 3G connection, RD is quite usable. Imagine being able to control your home computer from your phone while on the go to retrieve a file or check your mail. Or, shown here, you could use your phone to control Windows Media Player while you have company at your house. As you can see, the desktop actually scales to the 480×640 resolution, so you don’t need to scroll a lot to see the window contents.
