New Video of the Touch Pro

In this video, Arne Hess from the::unwired gives us a hardware tour of the German Touch Pro, and the only real surprise is that the microSD card slot seems to be under the batter cover, meaning that you’ll have to take off the back to swap cards. Other differences compared to the Touch Diamond is that the backing has a soft coating to it, and the front of the device has slightly rounded edges.

Video of Faster TouchFLO 3D in ROM 1.93

Nishanth recently posted about an official HTC-issued ROM update for the Touch Diamond that unlocks the 850GSM band and makes TouchFLO 3D faster, among a few other things.

In this video, we can see the improvements that have been made to TouchFLO 3D. It’s not that it was slow before - it was that the animations made it feel slow, so HTC cut a lot of them out, and now it seems much more snappy.

Video of the Touch Pro with HTC CEO

Anyone speak Spanish? =D This is a good video of the Touch Pro that shows the CEO of HTC explaining the concept of the device. We also get to see TouchFLO 3D in landscape orientation, plus the fifth row of keys of the keyboard - a welcomed addition. There are a few glimpses of the thickness of the device, which is about the same as the HTC Kaiser (aka TyTN II and AT&T Tilt).

Accelerometer Features of the Diamond and Touch Pro

Posted by Brandon Miniman on June 27th, 2008

The Diamond is the first Windows Mobile phone to have an accelerometer. This lets the display automatically re-orient itself when you rotate the phone. Finally! Why didn’t someone think of this sooner? Oh yeah - Apple did.

The accelerometer functionality only works in some programs like Opera 9.5 and the photo application. It also works in the game Teeter, which allows you to move a ball around the screen by tilting the device. Pretty neat =D.
